Outfinity is not built around a conventional SaaS or AI-native company thesis. In the familiar AI race, the market is already a red ocean: Google, OpenAI and other exceptionally well-funded companies can spend billions on models, distribution, infrastructure and talent. A small company that simply tries to copy that race has little room to create durable leverage.
A different starting point
Our thesis is that the more interesting opportunity is not to become a smaller version of those companies. It is to build a decentralised brand around a deeper and more durable social, technical and economic proposition. AI is changing how people work, relate, decide, create and trust one another. That transition needs more than another application layer. It needs institutions, shared language, credible participation and a worldview strong enough to guide difficult choices as technology changes the economy and human relationships.
From Linux to Metacult
History offers a useful analogy in Linux: a serious technical project became much more powerful because a distributed community, shared practices and a recognisable culture formed around it. Outfinity calls its corresponding social architecture a Metacult. It is not a closed club and it is not a system for central control. It is a way to align independent researchers, builders, partners, investors and communities around a common direction while preserving their autonomy.
For this to work, the culture cannot be only a brand campaign. It needs a coherent philosophy of how participants see the world, how they judge opportunities and how they act together. Metacult, Outfinitism, meta-rationality and decentralised brands provide the conceptual ground for that work. The four books in our cultural collection explain these ideas and the investment thesis behind them.
Why a venture studio fits
A venture studio is a practical vehicle for turning this thesis into companies, infrastructure, research programmes and partnerships. It lets us test an idea before forming a company, reuse knowledge and capabilities across several ventures, and bring the right people in when their contribution is genuinely useful. Rather than bet everything on a single product or a single founder, the studio compounds research, validation, operating experience and relationships across a portfolio of related efforts.
Capital efficiency without monopoly
We believe a fair, non-monopolistic model can create a different kind of capital efficiency. With tens of millions, a connected studio and partner network may be able to build capabilities that isolated companies would struggle to build even with far larger budgets, because the work, infrastructure, trust and distribution can compound across participants. This is a thesis to validate, not a promise of returns. Its strength depends on disciplined execution, credible governance, useful products and partners who choose to build with us.
A decentralised brand with a centre
Outfinity does not aim to control every part of this future. The ambition is to be a credible centre of gravity: a studio that convenes, validates, contributes infrastructure, protects the quality of the shared direction and grows alongside independent partners and investors. If AI-related markets become trillion-scale, a well-governed decentralised brand that creates real value for its participants can earn a meaningful place in them while also helping build a more open, useful and humane technological economy.
Why we are prepared for the challenge
The founder of Outfinity has pursued these questions for more than 25 years: how technology changes institutions, how people organise around ideas, how cultures create durable value and how intelligence can be used without reducing human agency. That long-term work is now expressed in Outfinity's research, venture practice and books. We invite investors, operators, researchers and partners to read the four books, test the thesis with us and help shape the ventures that can make it real.
